Masayang Pamilya Organization, Inc. (MaPa Org., Inc.) was honored to serve as one of the panelists in “Keeping Families Together,” a key session of the ASEAN Child Care Reform Forum, held on September 24, 2026, at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Manila.

MaPa Executive Director Jennel Reyes Doroin shared MaPa’s experience working with national and local government agencies to strengthen parenting support in the Philippines. She highlighted how MaPa has contributed to the institutionalization of evidence-based and locally grounded enhancements to national programs, including the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and the DSWD Centers for Residential Care Facilities.

Speaking to high-level representatives at the ASEAN forum, Executive Director Reyes Doroin emphasized the important role of parenting interventions in efforts to keep families together. Strengthening parenting support can help prevent child abuse and neglect while also contributing to children’s health, early learning and education, and overall family well-being.

“Where there is a child, there must be strong, supported parenting.” 💙

On September 4, teen parent participants, MaPa facilitators, and implementing partners from the Naga City LGU gathered with Andie Casas and Dr. Bernice Mamauag, our MaPa research team, to reflect on their experiences and share their recommendations on the MaPa Teen Parents Program.

Hearing directly from the people who experience, deliver, and support the program helps us better understand what works, what can be improved, and what teen parents need. Their voices are an essential part of strengthening the program and making it more responsive to the families and communities we serve.

Adolescent mental health requires comprehensive care and collaboration across different sectors of society.

Masayang Pamilya Organization, Inc. (MaPa) was grateful for the opportunity to share our work in supporting the overall well-being of adolescents through evidence-based parenting support interventions at the 13th Biennial Convention of the Society of Adolescent Medicine of the Philippines, Inc. (SAMPI) and the Philippine Pediatric Society Central Visayas Chapter (PPS-CV), held on August 27 to 28, 2026.

Dr. Bernice Mamauag, our Research Director; Andrea Casas, our Research and Program Development Officer; and Cherry Nicdao, our Training and Implementation Officer, presented how MaPa programs support families by strengthening parenting skills, building parenting self-efficacy, and promoting parents’ own mental health, all of which are important in supporting the mental health and well-being of children and adolescents.

Last August 24, 2026, Sir Jess Farr, one of our Board of Trustees, and Cherry Nicdao, our Training and Implementation Officer, attended the Civil Society Roundtable on Fixing the Foundations of Philippine Education, led by the Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. (PSFI) and the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM II).

Recognizing the current challenges in early childhood care and education, we believe that parenting support can be an important part of strengthening children’s learning and development. The roundtable provided a valuable opportunity for us to share the work we do at MaPa and learn from other civil society organizations working to strengthen Philippine education.

The recent ISPCAN Congress 2026, held on August 24–27, brought together Global Parenting Initiative members from different countries to share research, experiences, and programs focused on preventing child maltreatment.

Representing the Philippines, MaPa Org., Inc. Executive Director Jennel Reyes Doroin presented a poster on the development of the Keeping Children Safe Online module, which supports parents and caregivers in building their awareness and skills to help protect children from Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC). 🛡️📱

The module was integrated into MaPaChat and initially implemented in Angeles City and Cagayan de Oro City. Moving forward, the team will further integrate Child Online Protection content and pilot the enhanced program in the National Capital Region (NCR).

We are grateful for the opportunity to share our work and learn alongside partners from around the world. This initiative is one more step toward supporting Filipino families in creating safer online spaces where children can learn, connect, and thrive. 💙

On August 23, 2026, Masayang Pamilya Organization, Inc. was honored to participate in the Global Parenting Initiative’s Parenting at Scale pre-conference session at the ISPCAN Congress 2026 in Melbourne, Australia.

Representing MaPa, Executive Director Jennel Reyes Doroin shared insights from our years of working with local and national government partners on an important question: How can we work with governments and communities to strengthen the programs and systems they already have?

Sustainable change does not always mean introducing something new. Governments and communities already have valuable knowledge, experience, and systems in place. By bringing together their strengths with evidence, technical expertise, and new approaches from civil society, we can help make parenting support more accessible, responsive, and sustainable. 🌱

Last July 26, 2026, MaPa facilitators went to Naic, Cavite to begin the first module of the MaPa Kids with Asynchronous Sessions, an 8-week program for parents and caregivers of children ages 2–9, implemented in partnership with the Joy-Nostalg Foundation.

Through this hybrid program, a combination of in-person, live chat, and asynchronous activities in hopeful.ph, parents and caregivers learn practical ways to build stronger and more positive relationships with their children, while exploring age-appropriate positive discipline strategies that support children as they grow and thrive. 💙

We are grateful to our facilitators, partners, and participating families for being part of this journey. Together, we continue bringing positive parenting closer to more communities, one family at a time. 🏡✨

Last July 2, 2026, Masayang Pamilya Organization, Inc., represented by our Executive Director, Jennel Reyes, participated in the Regional Council for the Welfare of Children (RCWC) 2nd Quarter Meeting held at Aloha Hotel, Manila.

During the meeting, MaPa introduced our upcoming Safe Online-funded project, sharing its vision and commitment to strengthening child protection in the digital space. We also had the opportunity to engage with members of the Regional Council and seek their support in building partnerships with local government units across Metro Manila to expand child protection and positive parenting initiatives.

As online risks continue to evolve, protecting children requires a whole-of-community approach. We believe that prevention begins at home by empowering parents and caregivers with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to guide and protect their children in today's digital world.

Masayang Pamilya Organization, Inc. formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Rotary Club of Makati and the City Government of Valenzuela for the implementation of the project, "Enhancing Comprehensive Prevention and Response Strategies for Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC)." 

The MOA signing brought together representatives from the City Government of Valenzuela, including Mayor Wes Gatchalian, Councilor Lorie Natividad-Borja, Councilor Niña Lopez, and Ms. Dorothy Evangelista, Chief of Social Welfare Operations. Representing the Rotary Club of Makati were Mr. Eduardo Galvez, President, and Mr. Christopher Ferareza, President-Elect. Masayang Pamilya Organization, Inc. was represented by Executive Director Jen Reyes Doroin, Finance and Administrative Unit Head Joannie Tongol, Ms. Cherry Nicdao, and Ms. Belle Ongrea.

This partnership reflects our shared commitment to strengthening child protection systems, promoting online safety, and empowering families and communities to prevent OSAEC.

During our meeting with key stakeholders in Valenzuela City last June 4, 2026, we discussed ways to strengthen local efforts to prevent and respond to Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC). Together, we explored how to empower families with digital safety skills, engage businesses as partners in child protection, and equip multidisciplinary teams to better support victim-survivors.

Masayang Pamilya Organization, Inc. was honored to support the Philippine Legislators' Committee on Population and Development (PLCPD), with the support of Terre des Hommes Netherlands, during the "Children Shaping Solutions Together: Co-Creation Workshop on Addressing Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC)."

As part of the workshop, our team facilitated a Photovoice session where adolescents expressed their thoughts on online safety, help-seeking, and creating safer digital spaces through drawings, symbols, photographs, and meaningful discussions. Together, they shared what helps them feel safe online, who they trust when something goes wrong, and the changes they hope to see in the digital world. 

The session reinforced an important message: children and young people are not just recipients of protection, they are valuable partners in creating solutions. By listening to their experiences and perspectives, we can build stronger, more responsive child protection initiatives that truly reflect their needs. 

From June 1–3, DSWD, Social Worker IIIs, Training Specialists, Regional FDS Focals, and City/Municipal Links from all regions across the country came together for the Training of Trainers on the FDS Pagpupunla Curriculum. 

Through simulations, practice sessions, and group activities, participants strengthened their facilitation skills and developed plans to support Municipal and City Links in delivering the Enhanced Family Development Sessions (FDS) Pagpupunla Curriculum to 4Ps beneficiaries nationwide. 

The three-day activity ended with an inspiring message from Atty. Elaine F. Fallarcuna, Assistant Secretary for Support to Operations and New Initiatives and Concurrent Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Undersecretary for the Conditional Cash Transfer Group. She emphasized the important role of regional representatives in bringing their learnings back to their respective regions and strengthening the implementation of FDS for families and communities across the country. 

 “Maganda kasi simple lang [ang mga tips] at kayang gawin sa bahay.” 

Kasabay ng pagdiriwang ng International Day of Families, nagsagawa ang DSWD NCR Field Office ng isang webinar tungkol sa kung paano magtutulungan ang pamilya para sa digital safety.

Sa pangunguna ni Ms. Jen Reyes Doroin ng Masayang Pamilya Organization, Inc., ibinahagi ang mga praktikal at madaling gawin na paraan upang matulungan ang mga magulang at anak na maging mas ligtas online, habang patuloy na napapakinabangan ang mga benepisyo ng internet. 

Naniniwala kami na ang pagprotekta sa mga bata sa digital world ay nagsisimula sa mga simpleng hakbang at bukas na pag-uusap sa loob ng tahanan. Sa pamamagitan ng tamang kaalaman at paggabay, mas nagiging handa ang mga pamilya na harapin ang mga hamon ng online spaces nang may kumpiyansa at responsibilidad.

While responding to cases is important, prevention starts long before harm happens. Families, schools, communities, government agencies, civil society organizations, and the private sector all have a role to play in creating safer environments for children.

Through the project "Enhancing Comprehensive Prevention and Response Strategies for OSAEC," Masayang Pamilya Organization, Inc., in partnership with the Rotary Club of Makati and the City Social Welfare and Development Office of Valenzuela City, is working to strengthen community efforts to prevent OSAEC and support children and families.

By empowering parents and children, improving coordination among partners, and building stronger support systems, we move closer to a future where every child is safe, protected, and able to thrive. 

Last May 18–21, 2026, our Training Team conducted the MaPa Teen Parents with Babies Facilitator Training at Naga College Foundation. Nearly 30 Barangay Service Point Officers were equipped with the knowledge, skills, and facilitation techniques needed to deliver the MaPa program in support of adolescent parents in Naga City. 👨‍👩‍👦✨

Throughout the training, participants actively engaged in discussions, practice activities, and simulations designed to strengthen their capacity to guide young parents as they navigate the challenges and opportunities of raising a child.

We are grateful to our participants for their enthusiasm, commitment, and dedication to serving families in their communities. 💙 We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Councilor Gayle Gomez and the City Population and Nutrition Office of Naga City for their continued partnership and unwavering support in advancing programs that strengthen and empower families. 🤝🌱

"To make the FDS timely, relatable, and easy to implement."

Last April 22, Dr. Liane Peña Alampay, Chair of the Board of Trustees of Masayang Pamilya Organization, Inc., presented the final session guides and resources for the enhanced Family Development Sessions Transformative Learning Path (FDSTLP) to DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian. This collaboration between DSWD and Dr. Alampay focused on making FDS sessions more fundamental, developmental, synergistic, and easier for City/Municipal Links (CMLs) to deliver. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦✨

It's the result of co-creation with stakeholders at every level, from 4Ps beneficiaries and CMLs to regional FDS focal persons and members of the Family Development Division. It really shows how building a strong program relies on perspectives and input from all our team members.

Last April 15, 2026, our Training and Implementation Team conducted a breakout session with local and international delegates of the Violence Ends With Us (VEWU) 2026: Asia-Pacific Youth-Led Summit on Ending Violence Against Children.

During the session, we shared the MaPa program process and highlighted how evidence-based, skills-based parenting programs can help break cycles of violence and build safer environments where every child can thrive. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦✨

The discussion was both meaningful and dynamic, as participants from different countries asked thoughtful questions and shared insights based on their own contexts and experiences. 🌱🌍

We are excited to see how these learnings will be translated into solutions that contribute to ending violence against children across communities. 🤝💙

In partnership with Joy~Nostalg Foundation, our facilitators came together for a Booster Training in preparation for the 4th batch of MaPa Teens Program Implementation in Sta. Maria, Bulacan.

From practicing facilitation skills to revisiting core MaPa concepts, the session helped strengthen their readiness and confidence to lead meaningful sessions with families. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦✨

We are grateful for opportunities like this to continuously support our facilitators in the field as they bring MaPa to more families in communities. 🌱💙

Last March 25–27, 2026, Masayang Pamilya Organization, Inc., in collaboration with DSWD, conducted a Training of Trainers for the delivery of the enhanced 4Ps Family Development Sessions (FDS).

The activity aimed to equip FDS Focal Persons from all regions with essential facilitation skills to support the learning and development of Municipal and City Links who will deliver FDS sessions to 4Ps beneficiaries across the country. 🇵🇭👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Held at BSA Twin Towers Hotel in Mandaluyong City, the training brought together partners committed to strengthening family learning and support systems nationwide. 💙✨

In partnership with ChildFund Philippines, our Training and Implementation Team conducted the MaPa Kids Program Facilitator Training in Dipolog City.

Participants included Child Development Workers, Child Development Teachers, Barangay Health Workers, Community Facilitators/Volunteers, and Program Officers, now equipped to bring positive and playful parenting practices to families in their communities. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦✨
